Reservation for the Will of God.

Welcome to anyone to my philosophy forum! :)

This is a very good question that was asked. As you might already know, I am a Muslim and in Islam we follow the instructions of God, the Almighty in the Holy Quran. In the Holy Quran, Allah, the All-Wise commands us to say "if God wills" whenever we intend to do something in the future.

Allah, the All-Knowing says in the Holy Quran:

And (do) not say about anything, "Indeed, I will do that tomorrow." Except [when adding], "If Allah wills." And remember your Lord when you forget and say, "Perhaps my Lord will guide me to a nearer way than this right way." [Quran, interpretation of meaning, 18:23-24]

So, I had an intention to reply to ficino's posts, and I said "if God wills", and you asked me what possible objection could God have?

My answer: I said this in the hope that perhaps God, the Almighty might guide me to a way closer to righteousness than the intention that I had.

And there are other things as well that I consider when I intend to do something in the future. It is a fact that I do not know what will happen to me in the future. For example, I know that one day I will die, and every human being will die one day and that is certain as Allah says in the Quran in chapter 3 verse 185 that every soul shall taste death. But neither I and nor anyone else but Allah, the All-Wise knows when this will happen. So upon this consideration I have to make a reservation for the Will of God, the Almighty when I intend to do something. For death might come to me before I get the opportunity to accomplish what I intended. Anyway, if you came here, I will like to share with you some things which I like to ponder upon. For example, the death that I aspire to have is that of Prophet David (peace be upon him). When the Angel of Death came to him, he welcomed him. You can listen to the story of Prophet David (pbuh) here:

The future death of Angel Gabriel (peace be upon him) is also a great way to die. You can learn about it from an Islamic scholar in the following YouTube video:
